Clarke Quay Central to Marina Barrage

Merlion Wayfarer joined in a very crowded activity today. After a lapse of a few years when the route moved away from the National Stadium to Nicoll Highway circuit, Merlion Wayfarer is back!
Up early, decked in her Denizen and a trusty pair of walking shoes, Merlion Wayfarer embarked on her Big Walk. A short train ride later, and she arrived at Clarke Quay Central for her first step!
Starting off is a nightmare with thousands of walkers jam-packed
into the entire boardwalk all the way to Read Bridge...

The lively drumbeat is somewhat of a consolation amidst the sweat and pushing...
Making her way from the front of Central to the back of it to collect her goodie bag is no joke...
There are some who just collected the goodie bags and then sat down to await the opening of dining outlets for breakfast while reading the complimentary TNP newspaper...
Squeezing into a small underpass - Definitely not for the claustrophobic...
To avoid the crowd, the walkers split up into two streams on both sides of the river.
There was a constant stream of human traffic for more than one hour...

This was what happened when the two streams met at Anderson Bridge,
and the ice-cream man was there to capitalize on the crowd! Smart guy...

A poster along the way to remind walkers to take cute photos...
From walking inside the Marina Bay Sands in the aircon to walking among the greenery at Gardens By The Bay...
And walking through a mist shower to cool down to enjoying sponsors' booths at Marina Barrage...
Take a pic with the big plush vehicles from Gain City or the Nando's rooster...
Finally - "FINISH"!
Merlion Wayfarer took the opportunity today to explore different parts of the central district and the bay area. Read more at The Quiet Downtown and The Hazy Waters...
